Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-COM) was founded in 1975 and is the only college of osteopathic medicine in the state of Ohio. It is part of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, which includes four campuses located in Athens, Dublin, Cleveland and Toledo. The college was created to meet the growing need for physicians in rural and underserved areas. OU-COM has a number of innovative programs that provide students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of medical settings. These include community primary care centers, rural health clinics and global outreach programs.
