Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM) was founded in 1973 as a partnership between the four universities of Northeastern Ohio. The college was created to meet the growing need for physicians in the region, and its mission was to provide a quality medical education that would be accessible to all. NEOUCOM was the first college in Ohio to offer a combined MD/PhD program and is one of only three such programs in the country. The college has grown substantially since its inception, expanding its programs, faculty, and student body. In addition to offering an MD degree, NEOUCOM now offers dual degrees in medicine and public health, master’s degrees in public health and bioethics, and certificate programs in health administration. NEOUCOM also has an active research program that focuses on improving healthcare outcomes for underserved populations.
