Yeshiva University Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) was established in 1955 as a private medical school in the Bronx, New York. It was founded by Yeshiva University, a Jewish institution that had been in existence since 1886. AECOM was the first medical school in the United States to be affiliated with a Jewish university. AECOM has enjoyed a long and distinguished history, and has become an internationally recognized leader in medical education and research. The college has trained more than 6,000 physicians and scientists who have made significant contributions to medicine and research.
