Liechtenstein: entry and exit regulations
Formalities, visas
A valid passport or identity card is sufficient. For children under the age of 16, a child ID card or an entry in a parent’s passport.
Import and export of goods
The import of goods up to a total value of CHF 300 is free of duty, with the exception of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. The customs office in Bern can provide information on taking weapons with you. The following products are duty-free for consumption, the amount of which may not exceed CHF 300: 1 liter of spirits over 15 percent by volume and 2 liters of wine or other alcoholic beverages up to 15 percent by volume, 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 g tobacco for people from 17 years. Taking along travel provisions for one day is also duty-free, and for people aged 15 and over a maximum of 0.5 kg of beef, veal, pork, sheep or goat meat (fresh, chilled or frozen), other meat and meat products of all kinds up to 3.5 kg and 1 kg of butter.
The importation of certain plants and certain weapons is prohibited. Otherwise the import of weapons must be registered. The Swiss customs office can provide precise information on this: www.zoll.admin.ch
Entry with pets
An EU pet passport must be issued to the pet before entering Liechtenstein. This can be requested from any resident veterinarian. The animal must also be vaccinated against rabies. The rabies vaccination must have taken place at least 30 days before entry and must not be more than 12 months ago.
In addition, the animal must be clearly identifiable by means of a chip or a tattoo.

How do you get to Liechtenstein?
The Principality of Liechtenstein lies between Switzerland and Austria on the classic north-south route that leads from Lake Constance via Chur to Italy.
Travel in the country
Roads
Liechtenstein has a road network of approx. 140 km. All roads are toll roads. The N13 motorway runs along Liechtenstein’s Rhine border to Lake Constance, to Austria, north to the Federal Republic of Germany and south to St. Moritz and Zurich.
Bus
The municipalities of Liechtenstein are connected to one another by a bus network. The Liechtenstein Alpine region can also be reached by bus.
Railway
An approx. 10 km long railway line runs through Liechtenstein from Buchs to Feldkirch, which belongs to the Austrian Federal Railway.

The nearest international airport is Zurich.
