The Central Dauphin School District is the largest and most diverse in the county, with over 19,000 students attending 33 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 3 high schools and an alternative school. The other 7 school districts in Dauphin County are: Halifax Area School District; Susquehanna Township School District; Steelton-Highspire School District; Middletown Area School District; Millersburg Area School District; Harrisburg City School District; and Elizabethtown Area School District.
