Good morning babes!!!
The short vacation from the blog is over, and now I’m back with the rope.
New year, I have new everything and I start the year with the right foot, today I decided to talk a little bit about the color of the year 2015: Marsala.
Every year the Pantone, world reference in search of colors, chooses a shade that will be trend in the world of fashion, beauty, design and decoration. Several industry sectors such as clothing, consumer, cosmetics and advertising companies, take advantage of this “choice” to launch their collections, hence the importance of Pantone in the consumer market and, even if indirectly, in our choices.
This year, the color chosen was the Marsala (Hello?) which is actually a warm wine tone and strong, but in my view, nothing stronger than Bordeaux or Burgundy we have heard so much these last few years.
Whether that color is going to take off or not, we still don’t know, but the truth is, it has appeared in various looks of the day, accessories, makeup and decorations.
In fashion, Tom “Marsala” came with everything in 2014 and promises to continue rising in 2015. For being a warmer tone, it just flatters all skin tones, and can be used at any time.
We’ve done a post here on the blog talking a little bit about the burgundy, and as the tones are very similar, you can be inspired and see some possible combinations with the color of the year.
I love this tone in lipsticks and nail polish, I think it’s exquisite and super glamorous.
There are many options of makeup with that color, in shades of lipsticks, shadows or blushes. The trick here is to not use it on more than one point on the face, for it’s a strong color, “weighing” makeup and leaving the visual over too much.
I like this tone in nail polish and lipsticks and now I’m going to continue using it for sure. According to studies of Pantone, it portrays women of strong personality, elegant and seductive. I loved it!
In decorating, that tone is ideal for creating intimate environments, since it is strong and, therefore, gives the feeling of diminishing space. I’m not a big fan of such strong colors in furniture and walls and prefer to dare a little in details like carpets, pillows, quilts …. Anyway, accessories that can be easily exchanged without burdening our wallets.
And then divas, what do you think of the choice this year?
I love the color and, like I said, it’s pretty easy to be introduced in our daily lives.
I hope you enjoyed the tip!
A great week and a prosperous new year full of health and blessings to all!
