Cornell University Weill Medical College

Cornell University Weill Medical College was founded in 1898 as the medical institution of Cornell University. It was the first medical school in the United States to be associated with a private university. The school was initially located on New York City’s Upper West Side, but moved to its current location on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 1928. The college has long been recognized for its excellence in medical education and research. In 1996, it became part of the newly established Weill Cornell Medical College, a merger of two schools: the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

In 2000, Weill Cornell Medical College opened a campus in Qatar, becoming the first U.S. medical school to open an international branch campus. Cornell University Weill Medical College is a highly competitive medical school.
