First Tablet from Samsung

Samsung today introduced the your first Tablet PC. The new device could hardly avoid comparisons with the Apple iPad. First, because it is a tablet. Secondly because it is similar to Apple’s device.

The new Galaxy Tab is based on version 2.2 of the Android operating system, weighs 380 grams and has a 7-inch TFT-LCD. In addition to the features typical for such equipment offers the possibility to make voice and video calls, thanks to support for 3 g HSUPA. In terms of connectivity, the device supports WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 yet.

The front camera of the equipment serves the video calling functionality, while the rear camera-3 megapixels-serves to capture images, which can then be edited, transferred and shared from the equipment.

The device also features the company’s application for the electronic books, the Readers Hub. The offer, guarantees the manufacturer includes titles of classic literature, more recent sales successes, reference materials, titles of newspapers and magazines.

On the same line, the Galaxy Tab is part of two other news: the Media Hub, a portal for movies and videos and Music Hub, an application for access to “a wide range of songs,” says Samsung.

the Galaxy Tab is powered by a Cortex A8 1.0 GHz and has the internal memory of 16 or 32 Gigas, which can be extended via memory card in over 32 gigas. The battery has a range of 7 hours in playback.

The measures of the new tablet, which arrives in Portugal between the end of this month and the beginning of the next, according to the manufacturer, resulting in 190.09 x 120.45 x combination 11.98 mm. The price is not yet known.
