EasyAcc is a manufacturer of mobile battery to power the phone on the road with sufficient power. But not only batteries available on the product range of EasyAcc, but also many other devices, especially in USB 3.0 range. Therefore, this test is about EasyAcc USB 3.0 Hub with Card Reader. Whether this is any good, we tested for you …

This product is provided to us free of charge by the manufacturer. Our reports will always reflect our mission statement.

First impression

Even before we have the EasyAcc USB 3.0 hub fully unpacked with card reader, makes a positive impression that this is delivered in an environmentally friendly packaging. This includes a USB hub with integrated card reader and a short description. The EasyAcc USB Hub is well made and makes a stable impression. The fixed thereto USB 3.0 cable is only about 14 cm long. This has an upside and a downside. Positive is that the USB hub is characterized ultra portable and it can be easily travel with it, it fits perfectly into an ordinary laptop bag. On the other hand, it is definitely too short for frequent use on desktop PC. However, this deficit could be addressed through a USB 3.0 extension cable.

We appreciate the high-quality processing and the simple yet appealing design. There are three USB 3.0 ports (see eusbhubs), an SD card slot and a micro SD card slot integrated. An LED display informs the user also has the status, in which the hub is located.

Speed test

Of course we are interested in the speeds that can be achieved with this USB hub. Finally, it’s equipped with USB 3.0. Therefore, we conducted a benchmark.

The result is unfortunately disappointing: about 40 MB / s actually corresponds to USB 2.0 speed. The EasyAcc Hub has been connected to a USB 3.0 port. The speed test was 3.0 sticks repeatedly performed using a USB, but with a similar test result. Apparently this works the USB 3.0 connection is not tidy. Because of a further PC the hub via USB 3.0 was not detected until.

In the EasyAcc USB 3.0 Hub with Card Reader (version HC1) is a small and well-made product. Would this be advertised as USB 2.0 product, there is nothing to complain about. Unfortunatly the USB 3.0 connection not working properly, which is why this device for users who need a fast connection, is unsuitable. Unfortunately, we can not be more than two stars awarded as the most important feature is not supported due to this fatal point of criticism. Strange is also that we do not know this from EasyAcc. In the field of mobile batteries of these manufacturers is in fact up front. Possibly, therefore, is this product is a defective production, because it is already a Nachfolgerhub with the identifier HC2 on the market, in which the error has been fixed policy.
