Annual tradition, AnTuTu has published the ranking of the 10 most powerful smartphone 2015 based on scores achieved through its platform benchmark. Recall that, during the final months of the year, AnTuTu has received a major update that has upset the system of calculation of scores, giving greater priority to GPU performance compared to what happened with the previous version, making it impossible for a direct confrontation with the scores obtained previously. Before I leave you to your data, please note that the measurement is based on the average score obtained from each Terminal through a series of at least 500 individual tests.
Passing instead of the ranking, we see how iPhone 4S and 6s Plus win hands down the competition, with a much higher score than the other competitors, amounting to 132620 points. The merit of this result is attributable to new platform Apple A9 which presents itself as the most powerful on the market, at least according to computerdo.
With nearly 40,000 points behind, we find the new Huawei Mate 8 in second place, which gets92746 points. Mate 8 is the first Terminal to use the new platform Kirin 950, the first exponent of the new generation of SoC we will see flourish in 2016.
In third place we find Meizu Pro 5, which gets a score of 86214 points and rips out the position at Galaxy 5 Notes and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus by choosing to adopt a FullHD display, fourth and fifth respectively with scores of 83364 and 82087. We cite these three terminals at the same time due to the fact that all use the same platform Exynos 7420 developed by Samsung and which debuted with Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge during the first months of 2015.The year just ended was certainly important in terms of the evolution of Samsung mobile SoC world, since his Exynos 7420 can safely be regarded as the best SoC in circulation in Android during 2015 thanks to the right balance between power and reliability.
Surprisingly, but maybe not so, are in sixth position a couple of 2014— iPhone 6 and 6 Plus iPhone that, peaking in mid-table with a score of 80554 points, show that Apple A8 is a SoC still interesting and perfectly in line with the performances of competitors stepped out onto the market a year later. This result can certainly reassure all those who plan to apply to the Next iPhone 5e.
The last 4 positions are all gone from smartphones equipped with top of the line SoC Qualcomm — Snapdragon 810. In the order we find OnePlus 2, Letv Pro, Xiaomi Note Pro and Nexus 6 p getting respectively 79747 79624 78903 78381 points, and,. Oneplus 2 is the only terminal at Mount a FullHD display, while Letv Pro, Pro Notes and Nexus 6 p rely on a QHD Panel that penalizes them, albeit slightly, for the final score.
Certainly the 2015 has not been a particularly positive year for Qualcomm, above all on the CPU. Please remember that Snapdragon 810, with its 430 AdrenoGPU, use one of the most powerful smartphone on the market however this is not enough to get a high score, also in light of the changes implemented by AnTuTu in calculating the results. Surprising lack of HTC One M9 and Xperia Z5 from the rankings, two great solutions that have been able to get the best out of problematic Snapdragon 810.
The 2016 should be the year of the revival of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820debut, thanks to which he has already been sighted in the early benchmark, showing results in line with those from Apple A9 and far superior than its predecessor. Obviously the benchmark scores do not represent in any way the quality of user experience that a Terminal gives the user, but are a great tool with which you can quantify the performance of a specific SoC over the competition.
